With temperatures spiking, many imbibers (including all of us!) are simply looking for a refreshing, cooling glass of wine. Mia Morelli and Lynda Paulson joined the hosts to discuss their favorite summer wine sippers and careers in the wine industry. Hosts Marcia Macomber, Misty Rodebush Cain and Lisa Adams Walter chose some of their favorites to enjoy the summer weather.

Misty’s summer go-to sipper is St. Supery’s Dollarhide Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, a bright, crisp and thoroughly refreshing wine to improve long, summer days and night. Marcia enjoys the Seghesio Vermentino, from the Russian River Valley, a wine she’s drawn to due to its tropical fruit aromas and flavors. Lisa reached out further afield to the dry, but refreshing Sorelle Bronca Prosecco, from Italy. Listen in to hear more about their comments on the wines.

As to our guests, Mia and Lynda, they both hail from years in the wine industry. Mia Morelli is a Freelance Marketer. She previously served as Senior Director of Marketing at Foley Family Wines, Brand Manager at Jackson Family Wines and recently returned to wine country from the East Coast after finishing up her Master’s Degree in Business.

It was great fun to hear Mia’s insights surrounding the shifts in wine marketing and the effect of COVID-19 on the industry and consumer habits. Mia’s traveled the world, working in the wine and marketing business in New Zealand and other international locales.

Lynda Paulson has been training and coaching tasting room staff, CEOs and public speakers in the art of communication and sales for more than 30 years. Currently focused on helping professionals give better presentations in the virtual arena, Lynda shared a number of tips to make the difference between engaging your audience and losing them to distractions. For those looking to make online meetings more successful, you may find useful tips from the lively discussion.

Having just virtually attended the recent Wine Packaging Conference, Misty led a discussion on the innovative designs entered in the competition. Open to traditional 750ml bottle molds as well as new packaging and cans, the various categories were judged on their visual appeal, design functionality, appropriateness for the price segment and creative utilization.
