EP31: We are all faced with many buying decisions every day of our lives. Patti Britton of Britton Design works towards influencing us in our wine and food choices in her role as a packaging designer (amongst other graphic design projects). Patti started her graphic design career working for design studios in San Francisco, designing wine and food packaging along with collateral design. She started her own small studio, Britton Design, in San Francisco, at Sansome and Vallejo in 1990 which she eventually moved to the city of Sonoma.
Patti prides herself on being a storyteller and working with clients to understand their message and how best to reveal it so that consumers are engaged. Sondra has known Patti for over 25 years and hired Patti in 1997 when she opened the girl & the fig to create her logo. Throughout the years, Patti has designed more logos, food and wine labels, brochures and more for the girl & the fig. Patti continues to be an award winning designer and her esteemed client list has included Opus One, Ferrari Carano, Viansa, Clos du Val, Galante and way too many to name here.
We were honored to be Patti’s first podcasting experience. She paints us a picture of her well regarding design history and what it takes when working with a client to create a visually appealing packaging design that not only tells a story, but sells the product.
