It is only fitting that Michelle Heston is featured on our 30th episode as we celebrated with one of her amazing one-of-a-kind cake creations. Michelle calls baking her passion project, a way she can combine her love for baking and her generous spirit to friends and family by “letting them eat cake”. Our conversation moves around from Michelle’s upbringing in the restaurant business, the family tradition of big Sunday dinners, how she found her passion for baking and a bit about working public relations and marketing for luxury hotels.

Sondra unabashedly ate 2 pieces of Michelle’s special Whiskey & Honey Cake. (Daisy chocolate sponge cake with Irish-whiskey scented and Sonoma honey vanilla buttercream. Naked frosting of the same recipe, topped with homemade burnt chocolate hard candies dusted with gold sprinkles (to look like figs), local wildflower honeycomb and chocolate shavings).

Michelle’s real life job is as the Executive Director of Public Relations for Accor Hotels, which includes the Fairmont Hotel Brand.
