EP24: Sonoma Farm Trails was created over 40 years ago as a way to connect the farmers to the public and a chance to learn more about their local food. Four decades later, the mission has remained the same, but they have more members than ever. Folks coming to Sonoma County should come in hand with a downloadable Farm Trail Map that will show them the way to family farms, the best produce, flowers and a real look at the Sonoma County food landscape.
Samantha Harman from Sonoma Farm Trails (a non-profit) and friend Tyffani Sedgwick joined us in Santa Rosa to record this episode. We discussed the history of the organization (including reviewing some of the earliest maps), the famous Gravenstein Apple Fair, Farm Trail events and more.
Visit the website at www.farmtrails.org to find the map, event calendar or to even volunteer.
